Our Story

Our families have mined and traded gemstones in Gilgit-Baltistan for generations. We grew up around the mines—not reading about them, but living them. The North Gems was founded to connect that deep regional knowledge and those decades-old mining relationships directly to international wholesale buyers, through a Canadian-registered company built specifically for export. We are building the company we wished existed when our ancestors were selling rough stones to middlemen for a fraction of their true value.

Our Process (How We Work)

We shorten the chain between the mine and the buyer, and we stand behind every stone that moves through it.

We source directly from family-operated mines and trusted mining partners in Gilgit-Baltistan. We then professionally finish the stones in Pakistan (though we also supply rough stones as-is). Finally, we export through our licensed Canadian entity, delivering directly to manufacturers, dealers, wholesalers, and collectors worldwide. To ensure consistent supply, we also invest equipment and operational support into partner mines we don’t own outright—expanding reliable supply without taking on operations we can’t manage well.

Why Choose Us

Authenticity, transparency, and direct access define everything we do. Traditional gemstone trading is riddled with intermediaries, often changing hands four or five times before reaching a buyer. We eliminate that. We can tell you with confidence which mine, which region, and which community your stone came from. Whether you require rough material or cut-and-polished finished gems, our existing inventory and deep regional knowledge ensure you receive consistent quality and verified origin, backed by a formal Canadian business structure built for international trade.
